Earth Hospice Rites

Honoring Loss, Tending Beauty
Sunday, August 24
3:00-4:30
With Trebbe Johnson and Rev. Alison Cornish

Three years ago, Trebbe and Alison formed a 20-minute bi-monthly online series called Earth Hospice Rites.

Earth Hospice? The Earth isn’t dying, of course. But something very dear to us humans is dying, and that is our relationship with the seasons, the plants, animals, and waters as we know and love them. Even now, we are already losing our ability to plan for and dream about a good future for ourselves and our children.

As part of the annual Friends Conference on Religion and Philosophy, Alison and Trebbe are offering a special program: Earth Hospice Rites: Honoring Loss, Tending Beauty. We'll:

  • talk about how we came to start the program three years ago

  • explain how we came up with the 20-minute length and the format

  • offer an actual 20-minute Earth Hospice Rites program

  • share how participants can adapt for their own family, friends, and community this simple practice of acknowledging the reality of climate change and finding beauty and empowerment. Free and online.

Please join us! The program is online and free of charge, but you need to register.
