Essays & Articles

I start each piece I write, whether it’s an essay, an article, or a book, with a fascination and question. The fascination is for something I’ve witnessed or heard about or experienced—and want to know more about. I don’t just want to go deeper into the subject, however, I want to go broader as well. What does this fascination have to tell us? How is some act or idea from the present related to a mythic story from long ago? How might it be useful for some conundrum we face today?
